Finding meaning through unexpected guides

In my twenties, I held the belief that locating spiritual mentors was a challenging task akin to the pursuit of a soulmate. Over time, my perspective shifted as I recognized that we are constantly surrounded by individuals who either impart valuable lessons or propel us into challenging situations, fostering personal growth and a deeper understanding of ourselves.

I feel fortunate to have recently encountered one of the most significant, distinctive, endearing, and simultaneously demanding spiritual mentors in my life: my newborn daughter, Arya. She is imparting skills I've been refining for years, such as letting go of control, embracing the present moment, practicing self-kindness, making peace with adversity, flowing with life, and more. Spiritual guides also illuminate our unique paths toward a meaningful existence. I now discern the most meaningful aspects of my life—elements that might seem commonplace but are worth sharing, given our tendency to overlook them amid the distracting allure of consumerism. Leading a healthy, joyful life with family while maintaining productivity and contributing to others.

For years, I grappled with a sense of displacement, particularly in my professional life, which had been imposed upon me against my will. However, I have finally found my way home. Serving as a coach, mentor, educator, artist, and creator and helping patients and those dedicated to patient care at all levels brings immense fulfillment to my life. Throughout this journey, I've navigated through numerous challenging situations and engaged with some of the most formidable individuals. I am grateful for their presence in my journey, akin to my sweet Arya, as they thrust me into strenuous circumstances, ultimately leading to the discovery of newfound strength, choices, priorities, and meaning.
